Aerial

Aerial

Aerial is a young blonde Overlander girl that became a member of the Wolf Pack along with her twin sister Athena. Unlike her sister, who is mute, Aerial usually finds herself having to speak for the both of them.

History

Adopted by the Pack

While on their journey home, the Wolf Pack came across a destroyed, abandoned city during the start of a storm. Investigating noises from within one of the buildings, Lupe found a small Overlander girl; Lupe showed concern, but another Pack member, Reynard, thought it likely that other Overlanders were nearby, lying in wait. Fearing attack, Reynard said they should simply "get rid of the brat" and soon found himself being attacked by a second child, who feared for her sister's safety. Reynard managed to capture her and carried her over his shoulder. Lupe insisted Reynard leave the children to her and promised the two that they wouldn't be harmed before asking their names. The second girl gave her name as Aerial and introduced her sister Athena, as the latter was unable to talk. When Lupe asked Aerial what had happened to the people of the city, Aerial simply replied that they were "Gone! All gone!" As the storm continued for the next ten days, the wolves were forced to stay within the shelter of the ruined city while Lupe attempted to decide what to do with the two girls. During that time, while Aerial was playing with a ball, Diablo attempted to teach her good manners. During this time, Aerial and her sister became fond of Lupe and started to see her as a sort of mother figure. Eventually, Lupe decided that Aerial and Athena belonged with the Pack, announcing that the two would be taught their ways and treated as their own kind. The Pack eventually made its way to its former home, only to find that city in ruin as well. While looking for signs of or messages left by survivors, the entire group was suddenly knocked unconscious with gas, later waking up in a cell. Finding themselves captured by the roboticized Sir Charles Hedgehog and a group of Shadowbots, the Pack was forced to watch Lupe allowed herself to be roboticized so she could be with her family, who had also been found roboticized and under the command of Charles. However, with her last ounce of free will, Lupe enabled Aerial and the others to escape, leaving the Overlander sisters in the care of the other Wolf Pack members.

Life in the Wolf Pack

Eventually though, Lupe and the other Robians had their free will restored, and were reunited with the Wolf Pack, making Athena and Aerial very happy to have her back in their lives. The Pack then left Knothole and resumed traveling. While in the woods, they suddenly found themselves in the path of A.D.A.M.'s spreading Nanites; too small to run quickly enough, Aerial was carried by Canus. They eventually made their way to safety and resumed their journey. When the Wolf Pack finally settled in their ancestral homeland on the southern continent to form the new Wolf Pack Nation, Aerial and the other children finally had a chance to experience a more stable family life. Though hostilities arose between the wolves and the Felidae, who apparently kidnapped Aerial and her siblings before they came back home. At the time Sonic the Hedgehog and Sally Acorn had been invited for an indoctrination ceremony, she had been playing a ball game with her siblings until Marcos, Lupe and Lobo's biological son, decided to keep it for himself. Aerial and her sisters tore after him and burst into the room where their parents were entertaining their guests. Maria demanded that he give it back, but he refused, insisting that Athena told him he could have it. Aerial angrily pointed out that Athena, as he well knew, was mute, but Marcos simply replied it was only because Aerial talked more than enough for both of them. The girls lunged at Marcos, throwing them all through another door while Lupe sighed, saying that her children were harder to govern than the country. Later, Marcos and Aerial suddenly burst into the room, alarmed, to tell their mother that a "Felidae warrior" was marching into the city.

Personality

Aerial is brave, bold and a bit bossy. While well-meaning, she can be somewhat loud and overbearing. She and her sister regard Lupe as their real mother and due to her youthful mentality, often gets into fights with her adopted siblings. She gets upset when others take advantage of her sister's inability to speak such as when their adopted brother Marcos lied about Athena telling him he could keep the ball while knowing she was mute. She loves her sister and her adopted family and they care about each other, their people, and their home, especially in regards to their coexistence with the Felidae.

Trivia

  • Both Aerial and Athena are parallel symbolisms to the Roman story of Romulus and Remus.
