The Aero-Chaser made their first appearance in Sonic Unleashed. In the Xbox 360/PS3 version, Sonic can't attack them directly; he has to boost into other Egg Fighters littering the course being followed and knock them into the Aero-Chasers to destroy them. Sometimes, they simply run into a pillar or a wall behind them, destroying themselves quickly. They, however, spawn more Aero-Chasers when defeated. In the Wii/PS2 version, the Aero-Chasers can be attacked directly; Sonic can either jump and boost into them or homing attack them.
They return in Sonic Colors, but this time, they resemble green Egg Pawns and they only shoot lasers. Just like in Sonic Unleashed, the only way Sonic can defeat them is boosting and knocking Egg Pawns scattered across the path into them, or the Chasers will annihilate themselves by running into a wall or ceiling.
The Aero-Chasers reappeared in the console/PC version of Sonic Generations, where they are renamed Egg Chasers and look like their original appearances. They can be encountered in both acts of Rooftop Run. In Act 1, Classic Sonic can easily destroy them with a Spin Jump, while in Act 2, like in Sonic Colors and Sonic Unleashed, Modern Sonic cannot attack them directly and can only damage them by knocking Egg Fighters into them with the Boost.
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
The Aero-Chasers make a return in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed in the race course Galactic Parade. They serve as race obstacles particularly to the leading player by shooting lasers at one side of the stage, slowing them down. These lasers; since they are wide distant apart, it is possible for the racer to avoid being affected by the laser by driving between the lasers.
The Aero-Chaser's primary method of attack involves firing a wide laser at Sonic, which he must dodge with a Quick Step. Other means of offense include a small wall of fire, also dodgeable by Quick Stepping, and an electric gate, which must be jumped over. The Aero-Chaser's jetpack doubles as a rocket launcher, whose rockets home in on Sonic.
