Owner of a Spagonian jewelry shop. This lady of leisure loves two things: elegance and beauty. Naturally, Aida considers herself a paragon of both, which would explain why her room is plastered with pictures of herself.

— Directory, Sonic Unleashed

Aida (アイダ Aida?) is a character that appears on the PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 version of Sonic Unleashed. She is a human resident of Spagonia and the owner of her own jewelry shop in the city.

History

Following the Earth's shattering by Dr. Eggman in Sonic Unleashed, Aida's shop got majorly messed up due to the tremors created from the shattering. Aida could naturally not stand for this, as she preferred everything tidy and organized, and spent the next several days clearing up her shop. In the meantime, she heard rumors about Professor Pickle being kidnapped.

Approximately two days after the Earth's shattering, Aida met Sonic the Hedgehog and Chip, who were heading to Spagonia University, and asked them if they had noticed that the world had shattered, while explaining what had happened to her shop. Later, when Sonic and Chip was looking for clues to Professor Pickle's whereabouts, Aida helped the duo by telling them that she had heard from some people she knew, that they had seen Professor Pickle in Mazuri.

At some point during the beginning of Sonic Unleashed, during nightfall, Aida was possessed by Dark Gaia's Minions. The result of their influence made Aida lose all interest in appearance, made her despise cleaning up and made her slack off on clearing up her home and shop, which resulted in her shop always being dirty in the mornings. Then when it became daytime, Aida would return to normal, but without remembering any of her actions during the night. This left Aida rather dumbfounded at why her shop was dirty every morning. She though it may had been burglars, but since she did not found any of her gems stolen, Aida believed something was amiss.

Aida continued to shift between her moods between daytime and nighttime for a while, until she was finally exorcised by Sonic the Werehog and Chip. As she recollected herself from the exorcism, Aida wondered what she was standing around for as she had to clean up her shop for tomorrow and returned to her work. Afterwards, Aida tried to offer Sonic a gem for his "girlfriend" for a good price.

At some point, Aida noticed that she had dropped her Old Necklace, which held a great personal value to her, while walking in the streets of Spagonia. Later, at night, Aida met Sonic again and explained to him about her necklace. Desperate to get it back Aida asked Sonic if he could find it for her. As Sonic accepted her assignment, Aida told him that she knew that he could get the job done. Sonic soon after returned with the Old Necklace, which was found by Elio, and Aida was overjoyed to get it back. After Sonic explained that it was actually someone else who had found it, Aida wondered who it has. She then gave Sonic a lovely finger ring, and told him to give it to Elio as a thank-you gift to show her appreciation.

Later on, Aida tried once to sell a gem to Sonic by explaining that even men wear gems these day and suggested that he should get one himself.
