Sonic the Hedgehog #1 is the first issue of the main Sonic the Hedgehog comic series by Archie Comics. This is not to be confused with Sonic (Mini-Series) #1. This comic was published the month after the Sonic Mini-Series ended. The comics at this time were more similar to the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog than the SatAM show in terms of story plots, being that the comics had isolated stories.

Contents

[edit] "Meet Me at the Corner of Hedgehog and Vine"

The evil Doctor Robotnik is busy busting up pinatas when one of his Swatbots bring him a special plant. The plant is not organic, but mechanic. The so-called "Krudzu" grows very fast, tying up anything near it! The Swatbot gives Dr. Robotnik a sinister plan, which he goes through with. Over in the secret underground village of Knothole, Antoine gets jealous of Sonic, who Princess Sally is discussing stuff with. Antoine goes out to pick the princess some flowers, only to find himself tangled in the dreaded Krudzu! Sonic and Sally hear a scream, and come to his rescue. They take Antione over to Boomer to see how they could get the plant off of him. All the cuttings of the Krudzu gets put into a bucket. Tails wanders over and waters the plant. Instead of growing, it short-circuits! They learn about it being mechanical, and soon realize that they won't have to do anything to stop it. It begins to rain outside, causing all the Krudzu to die. The Great Forest is saved from the Krudzu plague!

[edit] "You Bet my Life!"

Boomer discovers that Robotnik is making a big presentation in the Casino Night Zone! Sonic crashes the party, only to be subdued by Robotnik's newest baddie: the Orbinaut! And it is then that he is put in a giant pinball machine and sent through one very rough ride! Can he escape?

[edit] "I'd Like to Thank..."

It's the 1st Annual "Acorn Awards", and the Freedom Fighters are giving out trophies for "Best Freedom Fighters on the Planet." As they call out the awards, the Freedom Fighters, er, Freedom Fighter, collects all the prizes. The award winner: Sonic the Hedgehog!

[edit] "Keep Looking Up!"

Sonic the Hedgehog gets a letter from J.R. Kincaid of Vero Beach, Flordia. He asks about how Sonic's speed makes his legs blurry. Sonic then runs and sees how fast he must go for them to disappear. The ending: TWACK! on a tree limb.

[edit] "Fast Food"

Sonic gives you his secret Chili Dog recipe "Chili Dog A La Sonic." With Sonic the Hedgehog being a funny comic book, Sally comes in to make it just that by throwing a pie at Sonic's face!
