[edit] Summary
[edit] Story One
- "Night of a Thousand Sonics"
Sonic and the Freedom Fighters witness the opening of the Cosmic Interstate portal with a cyborg version of Sonic popping out in front of them. Cyber Sonic explains that his Universe's Robotnik (who will become the prime zone's Dr. Eggman in issue #75) turned the freedom fighters into Cyborgs, which actually gave them the upper hand and roboticized himself in order to fight back, and turned the tide. Sonic agrees to help and gathers other world versions of himself from their zones to fight this new menace. Robotnik lends a hand, revealing that Robo-Robotnik's presence is a threat to everyone. Robotnik concludes that the only way to fight Robo Robotnik is by obtaining the Giant's hand in the Neutral Zone coinciding the Cosmic Interstate. As Sonic and his other selves go to retrieve the hand, Robo Robotnik recruits the Moebius counterpart of Sonic (who will become Scourge in issue 160). Scourge (Known now as Evil Sonic) and an army of Shadow Swat Bots obtain the Giants Hand and it's teleported to Robo Robotnik, which creates the Giant Borg Battle Suit. To prevent Giant Borg's destructive rampage, the army of Sonics make a last stand against the Giant Borg, destroying it and Robo Robotnik (his conciousness is transported to a satellite in his zone's future). Each of the Sonics takes a piece of the Giant Borg battle suit to their zones to prevent anyone from using it again (until the Underground zone's Robotnik gets wind of it).

[edit] Trivia
- This issue introduced Robo-Robotnik. He would reappear again in Sonic the Hedgehog #22. Although originally this was supposed to be a different version of Robo-Robotnik, the two would canonically become one character in Sonic the Hedgehog #75. This however has caused much controversy, as the events in both alternate realities from StH #19 and StH #22 are different. Writer Ian Flynn has stated he considers the two Robo-Robotniks different. However, given that they are stated to be the same in Sonic the Hedgehog #75 and in Dr. Eggman's data file in Sonic the Hedgehog #108, this site considers them one being by its canon policy.
