Family Matters - Part Two
There's one exciting confrontation after another in the frozen waste of the Northern Tundra, as Sonic and the Arctic Freedom Fighters fight for their lives against the newest, most threatening incarnation of the Dark Egg Legion yet! Will Rotor and Silver come to the rescue, or will they be too busy finishing each other off?
The story begins where time traveler Silver the Hedgehog returns to his time (year 3437) embarrassed from his failure at finding the true traitor within the Freedom Fighters once again.
He meets with Guardian Edmund, who then asks about how Silver did on his attempt to find the traitor. Silver then changes the subject and tells Edmund that every time he changes something in the past, he is unaffected by the change, though Edmund lived through the change and never noticed it. Edmund then tells Silver about the Krudzu Spore, and then says he was quite a marvel when he destroyed the Spore.
Edmund then mentions Silver's master and asks if he is still working for him. Silver replies saying that his master taught him his powers and he still has much to learn from him. Edmund tells Silver he isn't pleased with his master teaching him and Silver says "I'm hoping not..."
Silver's master then calls him back though Silver's mind. Silver returns to his master. His master is revealed to be the aged Mammoth Mogul, who asks Silver to prepare them dinner as soon as he returns.
- In the Future Tense, we learn that the ARK fell to Mobius at some point in the past. Silver says that it has been burning on the horizon for years - this phrasing suggests it fell somewhat more recently than some of the other disasters. This could also be some kind of reference to the ending of Shadow the Hedgehog in which Shadow chooses to become the Guardian of the ARK.
- The robotics on the mind-controlled whales bear strong resemblance to the orca that chases Sonic in Sonic Adventure.
