Archie Sonic the Hedgehog Issue 236 is the two hundred thirty-sixth issue of the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series published by Archie Comics.

Summary
Cry Freedom!
Doctor Eggman's Egg-swats (who are being led by Mecha Sally) are seen terrorizing Furville. Eggman taunts them and tells them that they are property of the Eggman Empire. He says that they will either be roboticized, or, if they are protected by the immunity, they will be legionized and sent to capture their loved ones. Orbot says that he thought the immunity was taken care of by the Cosmic Reset Button. Eggman replies that it didn't, and that half of the planet is still protected from his roboticizer. Cubot says, "Yeah...but ain't the roboticizer busted?", and Orbot replies, "Indeed. And in addition to that, we're dangerously low on fuel and supplies after our recent outings." (referring to the Sonic Universe Eggman Arc.) Orbot then asks Eggman, "Why are we making this detour on our way to the Shamazon Base?" Eggman replies that he will repair the roboticizer, and that his prisoners can rot in the prison eggs until then. He also says that Furville survived his first attack, (StH #119) and that he "won't stand for such an insult". He says that he needs an example of his power to crush any hope, and it's on of the biggest settlements on the continent, now that the Freedom Fighters are over.
It then shows Sonic the Hedgehog in Freedom HQ from earlier. Tails and Amy Rose show up and tell Sonic that Bunnie is gone, and he replies that he knows. He says that they need to come up with something better than the regular Freedom Fighters. Rotor Walrus comes in and says that he's resigned from federal protest because they voted to banish Nicole to Freedom HQ. Sonic and Rotor go to the Council of Acorn and tell them their plan. They say that Sonic will lead one team that will travel around trying to defeat the Doctor. It will be called Team Fighters, and will consist of Amy, Tails, and T Pup. Rotor says that he will lead the other team that will protect New Mobotropolis, which will consist of a rebuilt Heavy and Bomb, and the rest will be chosen in a recruitment. The Council agrees.
Team Freedom arrives in Furville. Eggman asks Sonic how many of his friends he has to destroy before he gives up. Sonic replies that he won't stop until he's saved everyone Eggman has captured, he's honored everyone who have sacrificed themselves along the way, and until he's "kicked his butt once and for all". Sonic and his team begin to fight, and the Furville residents join them. Dr. Eggman orders a retreat, but leaves the SWATbot to cover him. Sally begins to fly away for her "Shamazon Objective", and Sonic tries to grab her. Right before he does, an SWATbot grabs him. Sally gets away, but Sonic says that he heard where she is going.
Leader of the Band
Rotor is seen with the new Team Freedom, which now includes Cream the Rabbit, Cheese the Chao, and Big the Cat. Ixis Naugus shows up and informs Rotor that he can protect New Mobotropolis. They argue, and then the Tails Doll, (which Vanilla is holding) activates. It breaks a corner of the Civic Center, and the building begins to tip. Rotor tells Big and Heavy to catch it, and his Battle Suit activates. He tells Cream to help people out. Then he tells Cheese to throw bomb in order to reduce the rubble and blow it back. Rotor lands, and notices that Naugus is talking to his three selves. Naugus says that he will go below the city to try to find out how that happened, and then thinks to himself, "And, in the shadows, perhaps find a means to solve the problems of the council and the fickle temperament of my people!"

- On the first page, the word "strategy" is misspelled as "stratergy".
