Trivia
A painting in Breezie's office is based off the portrait of Miss Mary Edwards by William Hogarth.
In addition to the characters from Sonic the Fighters, the issue also features two additional competitors in the Chaos Emerald Championship: renowned Japanese Sega mascot Segata Sanshiro and a Mobian Boar named Pane the Boar based on Fighting Vipers Jane from Fighting Vipers, the game that also featured Honey's human counterpart.
Knuckles peering out from behind a plant is a reference to what he does on the North American cover for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and the good ending cutscene for Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
