Archie Sonic the Hedgehog Issue 293 was the intended two hundred ninety third issue in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series published by Archie Comics. It was cancelled on 19 July 2017.[1]

Official solicitation[]

Sonic and Honey are on the set of the latest, greatest(?) super hero show — Sonic Man Heroes! But when Dr. Eggman crashes the scene, ranting and raving about creative differences, things get very interesting! Featuring cover art by comics extraordinaire Tracy Yardley and a “Arcade” variant by Sonic comics legend Patrick Spaziante!"

Trivia[]

  • Studiopolis Zone is featured as the setting on the regular front cover, and was also going to be the main setting of this issue.[2]
  • The Sonic Man Heroes crew pay homage to the character featured in Sonic the Hedgehog.
  • The variant cover's artstyle is modeled after the in-game graphics in Sonic the Fighters.
  • Tracy Yardley, after the series' confirmed cancellation, released his concept sketches for the "Sonic Man Heroes" online, and later put them up for sale.
    • In honor of the fourth anniversary of Sonic Mania's release, Tracy Yardley would later state that this issue would have taken place in Studiopolis Zone, and would have involved a Tokusatsu-style television show modeled after Sonic's "real life" adventures.[2]
