The Discovery Zone

Part 1

Sonic is seen running and mentoring Tails when they see a leisure suit appear out of nowhere. Sonic gives chase and the suit leads him into a cave, where he is blinded.

In Another Time, In Another Place...

Sonic is seen wearing the suit from earlier in a club named "Wharf Side Dance Hall", waiting for a person. A woman enters in, wowing the crowd and sits across from Sonic, looking similar to Sally. She introduces herself as Ms. Acorn and reveals that her friend Nicole can stop Dr. Robotnik from his invasion on Mobius but has to be found first in an exchange for a reward. Sonic accepts and rushes off to Slippy Dippy Slide Factory.

Part 2

Sonic gets in contact with Uncle Chuck and asks him to get more information on the Slippy Dippy Slide Factory. He returns with information but nothing too troubling or out of the blue. Arriving at the scene, Sonic finds a wreck, indicating someone was searching for something here. He also discovers robot oil, leading him to believe that Robotnik was behind it. Sonic asks Uncle Chuck to track where the robots may currently be. Uncle Chuck does this and Sonic hunts down the badniks, retrieving Nicole from them in the process. Nicole was running low on power and Sonic made haste to return her to Ms. Acorn.

Part 3

Sonic manages to return Nicole to Ms. Acorn but they are intercepted by Dr. Robotnik. He tells Sonic that Ms. Acorn is secretly Princess Sally, leader of the rebellion and that Nicole had information regarding the plans to every one of his the former's facilities. Sonic quickly defeats most of the robots with ease but is forcibly made to stop when Sally is targeted at point-blank range. Sally explains that she did not wish to chase Sonic away from the case if she had revealed the whole story. She reveals that she was downloading information from the Slippy Dippy Slide Factory but escaped quickly before Robotnik's badniks could find her, ultimately leaving Nicole behind. Using a power ring, Sonic escapes with Sally and Robotnik orders his robots to find them. They leave without knowing that Sonic and Sally had secretly stayed behind. Sonic tells Uncle Chuck to a prepare a plane ride to the forest and the two escape through a secret exit. Once at the airport, Sonic initially declines Sally's request for him to join the rebellion but changes his mind as they could get in each other's way.

Back to the current timeline...

Sonic exits the cave and is found by Sally, Tails, Rotor and Uncle Chuck. Sonic tells them that he was fighting Robotnik, confusing them as Robotnik was dead and they believed Sonic was a slightly out of his mind.

The Freedom Fighters worry that Sally has been ignoring them a lot recently but really Sally was trying to communicate with Freedom Fighters around the world using Uncle Chuck's theories and Nicole's broadcasting system. She is able to do so and reminds them of the events of Robotnik's takeover and Archie Sonic the Hedgehog Issue 47 - 50. Sally then spoke of her plan to take the fight to Robotropolis but its only fault was that Robotnik's doomsday device opened up alternate realities called zones that appear at random. She tells her receivers to beware of the zones but is cut off the communication shuts down because the satellite uplink deteriorated. Sally leaves the room, hoping the others understood her message.
