The Assaulting Batter Blimp is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a Badnik created by Dr. Robotnik during his attempt to steal a Chaos Emerald from Angel Island.
Appearance[]
The Assaulting Batter Blimp is a circular, white and red robotic unit that has four rockets that help keep it afloat. It can also launch out smaller, white orbs that are used as weapons.
History[]
The Assaulting Batter Blimp ambushed Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles "Tails" Prower briefly after they crash-landed on Angel Island. Sonic himself was nearly hit by the robot's flamethrower. In order to ensure their safety, Sonic and Tails both fled into a nearby pool of water.[1]
The blimp was used by Archimedes during one of his tests of Knuckles.[2]
Powers and abilities[]
The Assaulting Batter Blimp can launch out smaller, white orbs that detonate upon impact and cause a fire, similar to napalm bombs. It also has a flamethrower on its front.
Trivia[]
- The Assaulting Batter Blimp is based on the boss that appears in Angel Island Zone in Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
