Description, Sonic Lost World (Nintendo 3DS)[1]

The Asteroid Ring is a recurring object in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It refers to the orbital debris surrounding the users of the Indigo Asteroid.

The Asteroid Ring describes the circular planetary debris that the users of the Indigo Asteroid wield while the Color Power is active. Similar to an asteroid field, the Asteroid Ring collects all of the debris the Indigo Asteroid pulls in and turns it into countless miniature cubes.

Game appearances

Sonic Lost World

The Asteroid Ring appeared for the first time in both versions of Sonic Lost World. In these games, the Asteroid Ring's size grows the more debris the Indigo Asteroid pulls in, although the size will reset when the transformation wears off. Also, the Asteroid Ring is here composed of multiple colors. The larger the Asteroid Ring is, the higher the player can jump and the bigger is the obstacles the player can pull in.

In the Nintendo 3DS version of Sky Road Act 2, standalone Asteroid Rings can be found floating in the environment. If the player passes through these in Indigo Asteroid form, they boost the player in a set direction like a Dash Ring, contribute to the debris surrounding the player, and partially replenish the Wisp Gauge.

In Sonic Runners, the Asteroid Ring appears alongside the Indigo Asteroid. In this game, the debris the Asteroid Ring is made of is entirely purple. Other than that, it does not have an impact on the gameplay.
