The Badnik Ruff and Badnik Stripes installing their respective counterparts as organic batteries, in Sonic the Comic #4. Art by Ed Hillyer.

The Badnik Ruff is a character that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. It was a Badnik built by Doctor Robotnik.

It resembled a yellow three-headed dog, with each head resembling a different breed (for example, the left head resembles a bulldog). It absorbed Ruff as its organic battery, and later appeared to menace Tails. The Badnik Ruff was destroyed by Robotnik after Sonic threatened him.[1]

  • As a three-headed dog, the Badnik Ruff is a reference to the mythological Cerberus, which guarded the Greek/Roman Underworld.
