The Beginner (ビギナー Biginā?) is a recurring Board type Extreme Gear in the Sonic Riders series. It is made for those new to riding Extreme Gear.

Description

The Beginner first appeared in Sonic Riders. According to its profile, the Beginner consumes little Air, and is good for beginners at Extreme Gear riding. It can be purchased at the shop for three hundred Rings from the beginning of the game.

In Sonic Riders, the Beginner is rectangular in shape with curved corners and is primarily colored paris green, with a yellow stripe on top of it, black accent borders and grey striations.

Abilities and traits

As a Board-type Extreme Gear in Sonic Riders, the Beginner is well-balanced in its attributes with average statistics and is suited for general riding.

Among the other Board-type Extreme Gear that have an average rate of fuel-consumption, the Beginner consumes exceptionally little amounts of Air when riding it normally, which gives a slight, but practical advantage in a race.

Description

The Beginner reappeared later in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity. According to its profile, the Beginner can increase its rider's chances of obtaining better items by netting them to its rider. It can be purchased at the shop for nine hundred Rings.

In Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, the Beginner is given a slight redesign, appearing more rectangular in shape, thicker and maintains its previous color scheme (though with a darker shade of green) and its yellow stripe. On its top surface, it has as well two circular silver-colored foot panels

Abilities and traits

As a Board type Extreme Gear in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, the Beginner is well-balanced in its attributes and is suited for general riding. Regardless, it stats are much higher than those it had in the previous title and those of average Extreme Gears in general. It possesses no unique abilities of its own.

Description

The Beginner appeared once again in Sonic Free Riders. According to its profile, the Beginner is equipped with a safety device that makes it an easier ride to handle, especially for rookie Extreme Gear riders. It is unlocked after completing the basic tutorials.

In Sonic Free Riders, the Beginner's design returned to having a more board-like shape, along with having metal blue accents on the side of its corners and silver-colored circles and striations on its top surface, while otherwise retaining its green color scheme and trademark yellow stripe.

As a Board type Extreme Gear in Sonic Free Riders, the Beginner is well-balanced in its attributes with average statistics and is suited for general riding.

In this game, the Beginner's stats have been greatly reduced in comparison to those it had in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, making them on the same level as the average Extreme Gears. It possesses no unique abilities of its own, like in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, and cannot be equipped with any Gear Parts.
