Ceneca-9009, a Bem
The Bem are a race of alien scientists from the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series published by Archie Comics.
Description
They come from the planet Argentium, which is in the the shape of a giant ring (leading it to be known as Wheel World), and their government is the Argentium High Command. The Bem all appear to be near-identical females with four arms, green skin, and bald heads without noses. All known Bem are known by the name Ceneca, followed by a number.
History
The Bem travel the galaxy carrying out planet-wide scientific experiments, and on several occasions their journeys have brought them to Mobius. The Bem recovered Shadow the Hedgehog from falling into the atmosphere, restoring him to health and giving him the energy to achieve the state of Super Shadow to hold off the Xorda while they escaped. Again he fell through the atmosphere, but thanks to the Bem, his abilities had been increased and he survived the fall with little physical damage.
Later on, Sonic visited the Bem planet of Argentium, where he found Amadeus and Rosemary Prower. Sonic eventually used a Bem wormhole to return to Mobius, finally ending the banishment imposed on him by the explosion of the Quantum Dial. Under the impression that Sonic was the renegade Bem Ceneca-9009, but unwilling to pursue his one-seated ship into Xorda space, the Bem allowed him to escape. Some time later, Sonic returned to Wheel World with Knuckles and Tails to find it in ruins with the Xorda and the Black Arms fighting in orbit.
The most well-known prominent of the Bem is Ceneca-9009, the inventor of the De-Robotizer, who was responsible for de-roboticizing all the Robians on Mobius against the wishes of the High Command, for which she was tried by the Tribunal Magistrate and sentenced to death (though she escaped with some help from Sonic).
