Ben[1] is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by IDW Publishing. It is a Scrapnik, an amalgamation of Badnik parts and it once served the Eggman Empire. It now resides on Scrapnik Island.[2]
Appearance[]
Ben is a combination of many Badniks, having the head of a Coconuts, the eyebrows, right arm and legs of a Roller, and the left arm of a Slicer. It has a crack under its left eye, with red wires coming out above and behind its head from a hole.
History[]
Past[]
After being discarded by Dr. Eggman, Ben grouped up with its other fellow discarded Eggman robots and began a new civilization on the doctor's abandoned Death Egg with them. As a group, they collectively called themselves the "Scrapniks" and named their new home "Scrapnik Island".
Scrapnik Island[]
While Tails was showing Sonic that he made a translator module for his Miles Electric, which decrypts what do the Scrapniks say, some of the Scrapniks, including Ben itself, wanted to all try and say "hello" at the Miles Electric so the device itself could translate what they are saying. It stayed behind along with the other Scrapniks when Sonic, Sigma and Mecha Sonic Mark II went to the abandoned Death Egg to find a spare part for Tails' Tornado.[2]

A couple of minutes later, when Mecha Sonic captured Sonic and attached him on a bed with a device attached to his head, Ben was spying on them. Shocked of what is happening, it quickly ran back to Tails and the others to warn them about Sonic being in danger, in the clutches of Mecha Sonic Mark II.[3]
Ben was amongst the other Scrapniks to forgive Mecha Sonic Mark II for its actions once it got its senses back.[4] During Sonic and Tails' departure, Ben and the rest of the Scrapniks bid goodbye to them.[4]
Personality[]
Ben is a robot of free will and has quite a friendly personality, even with the fact that it is mute.[2]

Ben seems to have good memory, as when it plugged its "plug tounge" onto Tails' Miles Electric, the device itself showed what Ben has seen previously.[3]

- According to sketches of Min Ho Kim's Scrapnik designs, Ben was originally going to have both arms being the same, with the blade of a Slicer attached to its left hand, with Ben's final design having its left arm being completely different from its right arm.
