Big Icedus (ビッグアイスダス, Big Icedus^?) is a mini-boss from Sonic the Hedgehog 3, as well as its locked-on form, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles. It is encountered in the first Act of IceCap Zone.

BattleEdit

Big Icedus has the shape of a snowman that hovers in the air. The robot is too high to reach at first (though it can be struck by Sonic using a Lightning Shield or by Tails from below whilst flying), and will attract a shield of eight giant snowballs for protection. After hovering around the screen, Icedus will throw its snowballs in the air. Five of them come down within the screen (which need to be avoided with good timing).

The robot swoops down in a U shape across the screen between launching its snowballs. It will do this either once or twice per attack, in a random, but predetermined, sequence.

The best chance to hit Icedus is just after when it throws up its snowballs, as it is not as high as it was to begin with at this point.
