The Black Assassin is a creature that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by the Archie Comics. They are an elite breed of Black Arms serving their race.
Appearance[]
Black Assassin looks like an enhanced version of the Black Warrior. It has three horns on the head, with an orange backpack that extends to the shoulders. It also has a small tail on its back. Its skin color is the same as the Black Warrior with red-orange feet and hands.
History[]
Past[]
A huge number of Black Assassins joined Black Doom for the first invasion of Sonic's World and faced several factions. However, once Black Doom was slain by Shadow the Hedgehog, they died with him.[1]
Shattered World Crisis[]
Act One[]
A number of Black Assassins under Black Death's control joined for a new invasion of Sonic's World on-board the New Black Comet, where they fought against Team Dark and the Spider Troupe after they invaded the New Black Comet. Despite Shadow temporarily joining their side, the Black Assassins could not stop the invaders from blowing up the New Black Comet with a nuclear warhead while Shadow killed Black Death, resulting in the Black Assassins' end.[2][3][4][5]
Personality[]
Like most Black Arms soldiers, the Black Assassins have no actual personality of their own and are but an extension of their hive-mind's ruler.
Powers and abilities[]
Black Assassins are described as the "Black Arms Elite" hinting a great difference between them and the other Black Arms in physical strength and skills.[2]
Weapons[]
The Black Assassins wield "Black Swords" that they use to attack their enemies.[2]
Weakness[]
Like all the other Black Arms, the Black Assassins' lives are connected to the hive-mind of their kind. That meant that if their hive-mind dies, so will they.[5]
Trivia[]
- Unlike their game counterparts, the Black Assassins in the comics wielded the Black Sword instead of the Refractor.
