Come, Black Bull! Burn this entire city and its inhabitants to ash!

Black Doom, Shadow the Hedgehog

The Black Bull (ブラックブル Burakku Buru?) is a powerful creature in the Black Arms and serves as a boss in Shadow the Hedgehog.

Description

The Black Bull resembles a cross between a giant maggot and a dragon. Due to its large blubbery body, its only weak spot is its single green eye. It can breathe fire and produce Black Wings from its mouth. It appears as a boss in Shadow the Hedgehog after completing Lethal Highway or Death Ruins. The guide is Sonic the Hedgehog for Lethal Highway or Rouge the Bat for Death Ruins.

Attacks

Black Bull uses two main types of attacks. Either it shoots fireballs to Shadow or breathes fire to the ground.

Battle

In both cases Shadow has to damage its only weak point - its eye. The player can use Homing Attack or weapons to damage it. In the Lethal Highway battle, the player can use Black Wings to damage Black Bull's eye with Homing Attack or he/she can destroy Black Warriors and use their weapon to damage Black Bull. In Death Ruins battle, the player must use a Spring in front of the starting point to reach a rail and grind on it. Then he/she can use either Homing Attack or weapons collected from Black Warriors to damage Black Bull's eye. In both battle sections using Shadow's Chaos Control would slow down the Black Bull and the clock for an easy A-rank.

Trivia

  • Despite the name, Black Bull looks nothing like an actual bull.
  • In the Pinch mode of the "Death Ruins" boss fight, Black Bull uses his jaws to try and bite Shadow.
*In the Lethal Highway Level, If you successfully damage Black Bull after the "half health cutscene" when he's not in a corner, he'll try to change direction and try to go through the building, thus causing the screen to shake momentarily.
