Lost World and M&S Sochi available to play at NY Comic-Con


Want to get another chance to play Sonic Lost World before its release?

According to an article published by Polygon, both Sonic Lost World and Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games will be available to play at this year's New York Comic Con. And yes, both versions of Sonic Lost World will be playable. The New York Comic Con will take place Oct. 10 through 13 at the Javits Center in New York City.

Pick up Sonic Lost World for the Wii U or 3DS on October 29, or pre-order it from GameStop (Wii U) (3DS) or Amazon (Wii U) (3DS). Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games will be released on November 15, 2013 exclusively for the Wii U (Pre-order here).

Webber explains Lost World's 25-life DLC

Jason Schreier of Kotaku.com recently criticized Sonic Lost World for having an extra DLC of 25 extra lives for the Deadly Six Bonus Edition. Having read the article, Webber decided to clarify the reasons behind Sega's decision when Stephen Totilo (also of Kotaku) managed to reach him for an interview.



"The lives are not really the focus," Webber stated. "The lives are an extra part to the bosses, which is the primary DLC."

Totilo asked why the twenty-five lives were necessary. Apparently many were concerned that giving away free lives would potentially imbalance the difficulty of the game to either make the game harder, to push people toward going for the free lives, or in essence it makes the game easier and in a sense devalues the difficult…

"Sonic Boom" television series announced by Sega

Remember the rumors of a "Sonic Boom" cartoon that sprung up around the Internet over the summer? Turns out they were true.


Yesterday, SEGA Blogs announced a new television series with the working title "Sonic Boom". The show is a CG action comedy aimed at children 6-11, and will first air in fall 2014 on Cartoon Network in the US. SEGA of America and Genao Productions will co-produce the first 52 eleven-minute episodes.

The series will center on Sonic, Tails, their never-ending search for adventure, and their battles with Dr. Eggman. Knuckles and Amy, plus a rogue’s gallery of enemies–some familiar to Sonic fans and some brand-new.
