The Blue Star II (ブルースターII Burūsutā II?) is a Board type Extreme Gear that appears in Sonic Riders. It is Sonic the Hedgehog's secondary character Extreme Gear in the game, exclusively for him, meaning only he can use it, and the successor of the original Blue Star.

History

The Blue Star II was created by Tails at some point prior to the finals in the EX World Grand Prix. When Dr. Eggman stole the Key to Babylon Garden and headed to Babylon Garden to claim its treasure, Team Sonic pursued the doctor.
When Sonic finally located the doctor, he was about follow him on foot, but was then given the Blue Star II by Tails to use, saying that he had prepared it just in case something like this happened. Thanking Tails for the new Extreme Gear, Sonic used the Blue Star II to pursue Eggman. As the same time, however, Sonic found himself facing Jet the Hawk, as Jet was after the doctor as well. Seeing this as a rematch for the finals, Sonic engaged Jet in a race to the doctor with the Blue Star II, and eventually claimed victory.
DescriptionEdit
The Blue Star II was built by Miles "Tails" Prower (though according to its profile, it was produced by Robotnik Corp.). It is especially made for the Speed Type. It is unlocked in the game after Sonic defeats Jet the Hawk at Babylon Garden in the Heroes Story in Story Mode.
As the Blue Star II serves as an upgraded version of the original Blue Star, the Blue Star II strongly resembles the latter. Like the Blue Star, the Blue Star II resembles a blue board with a recess on the front, a yellow stripe ringing around it and a grey foot panel with striations on top. However, the Blue Star II has a sleeker and longer design than the Blue Star, with double exhaust ports on the rear, the yellow stripe running more along the outer edges and has white highlights alongside its foot panel.
Abilities and TraitsEdit
As a Board type Extreme Gear in Sonic Riders, the Blue Star II is well-balanced in its attributes with average statistics and an average rate of fuel-consumption, and is suited for general riding.
Like most other character exclusive Extreme Gears, the Blue Star does not possess any unique abilities. In comparison to the Blue Star, the Blue Star II focuses more on speed, but lacks greater movement control.

- Despite Tails claiming to have made the Blue Star II, the game description for the Blue Star II says it was produced by Robotnik Corp.
- This is the only character specific gear to not be available when the character is unlocked.
