Precisely two weeks from now!
Before we start, I would clarify, this post isn't made for copium's sake, this is a genuine suggestion with actual merit. And I say that so that no admins lock this post, anyone should be able to share their feelings and I am making sure to respect the guidelines.
Sonic Wiki Zone is supposedly a "collaborative encyclopedia/comprehensive database of everything related to Sonic the Hedgehog since September 2005". The Wikipedia of Sonic, along with Sonic Retro. And it does a very good job with that, there's a staggering amount of pages on this wiki with very high detail on specific subjects. It's impressive and very commendable. But with every wiki on Fandom, there's a discussion board. And this discussion board is well, for talking about anything related around the wiki. Discount Reddit.
But the discussion board's almost prophetic, in a way. It's a weird gateway, a mini-showcase of the way that the community at large, is known to behave. If you go on the Dragonball Z Wiki, you can find a lot of toxicity on its Discussion Board, which reflects the. Go on any Roblox Games Wiki, you will find exactly the same thing.
The Sonic Wiki's Discussion Board displays an unprecedented amount of immaturity and toxicity. A lot of people here seem to refuse or not handle other's opinions, refute information given to them because of their preconceived biases, act immaturely based on shipping or internet stuff, don't like when a lot of information is presented to them...
Basically a lot of people act like 8-year olds. And the posts themselves are very unoriginal, usually along the likes of "What happened/Who is... (Wrong answers only)"; Yes; No; Maybe; IDK polls; Lyric chains; AI spam and Video reposts. I'm not opposed to these, but seeing these all of the time frankly is annoying. It's like every single post is recycled from another.
What's worse is that the people that actually take time into writing stuff or making content never get any attention. Take recent examples. I've experienced this myself, my concept for a refined Knuckles story in Sonic 3 & Knuckles that respected the events that happened in Sonic and Tails' campaign that I made a while back went completely under the radar. And I think that's due to the wiki being for all ages.
I want to now take some time to mention a specific problem. For some reason, the people on this wiki don't like when an explanation takes longer than 3 sentences and get turned off by seeing paragraphs of well-placed words. People who have a lot to say about a certain topic are ignored and sometimes met with resentment.
I'm not saying that I'm a saint, especially a few months ago. I don't like thinking of myself from even a few months ago, it's too cringe. And I understand if I've offended you a few months ago or before that. That's not what the problem is here though. The fact that they point out me writing a lot as a bad thing is genuinely concerning. I thought that the Discussion Board was, first and foremost, to share, your questions, your tierlists, your memes, your opinions, no matter how in-depth they are.
I mean, heck, what does it always say on the top of the Discussion Board?
What's on your mind, ...? What's written on the tab when you hover over it then?
Discuss Everything About Sonic Wiki Zone... Why am I not allowed to share what I think? And it's disheartening that your post, which you put thought and creativity gets forgotten in favor of a s***post and people start hating you because you write a lot. It's scary actually. There's also a problem with cussing (or lack thereof). It's actually silly how some of the admins here rush to block and delete any post that has a word that SLIGHTLY RESEMBLES a bad word. It's annoying to have your post and/or reply deleted because of "suspicious" words. Why is this though? I think it's mainly because of the age of the people who are here.
I think since this is an all-ages site, the admin and the site desperately try to make a site that's convenient to everyone, but to no avail since toxicity still reigns and people under the age of 13 learn and suck this attitude up. And since most of the people here are under the age of 13 or/and lack attention span, the posts with a lot of words get neglected even though they're the ones with the most thought put into them and less drama as their outcome. I suggest taking a different approach. The Tower Defense Simulator Wiki has tenfold more toxicity and immaturity. The community surrounding the game, unlike Sonic, feels disconnected. But something I will always admire about that wiki is how they manage the looming problem of immaturity:
You have to be at least 13 years old to be on the wiki (or prove yourself very responsible).
Cussing is allowed (of course no slurs and of course you can't use the bad words [the f word for example] in their intended purpose, just to throw around as an insult) if you're referring to a fictional entity.
If you act irresponsible, you first get a warning on your Message Wall. If you don't respect the warning, you get banned for a week. This goes on until the admin deem it necessary to ban you for a year or permanently.
I think, to avoid toxicity and immaturity, we could implement these ideas (at least the first and third suggestion) into this wiki. There would be less s***posts, but they would still be there, and people wouldn't be desensitized into making long or thoughtful posts. They'd get as much attention as the memes do. We'd, on this wiki, have a healthy mix of memes and long posts, and we wouldn't be shoe deep in flame wars and irresponsible threads all of the time.
We all know that Sonic is made to appeal to everyone, and at these recent times very much children. But between the lack of maturity of the newer fans, and the toxicity of the die-hard old ones, it's no wonder why people get turned off by the Sonic community. I think the wiki should take more steps into guaranteeing a more civil database where you can share your opinions without people or fighting or shoving insults down the replies because it's X words too long.
Like with any other vote here, type Support, Oppose, or Neutral. Thank you for reading until the end and I hope you have a nice moment depending on your timezone (if you're reading this at night you should probably should go to bed ngl).

I just wanna tell you that LEGO Sonic Show Mishap has arrived on YouTube today. But there's a little something about Shadow being a pissed off hedgehog. The scene where Shadow got extremely raged and blew up the LEGO Sonic studio. I was shocked to see that. Have any of you got the feeling about Shadow's powerful rage? Don't be scared. Tell me.
So I was digging around the Internet Archive and found this:
https://archive.org/details/sonic-design-leapfrog/mode/2up
A design doc for Sonic on Didj. And apparently WayForward, yes, that WayForward. Shantae, Ducktales, Mighty Switch Force Wayford was involved in this game's development process. Maybe this is some kind of misattribution on the part of the uploader, but WF had a sizeable leak recently that was primarily centered on their late 2000s projects. Plus when they're not making their own thing, they're making licensed shovelware slop, so the evidence does line up, even if they're not credited in the game itself.
Even if it's not WF, this is still a big find for... everyone who care cares about Sonic baby games....
Yeah, this is falling apart.
Even so, it's still good that this exists for preservation/historical purposes and it's interesting that WayForward and Sega may have crossed paths.
Also, if you don't know what Sonic Didj is, here's the wiki's page on it:
Also, sorry if this would be considered a "blog" post. I'm new here and the etiquette is unfamiliar to me.
