This is a question that I had stuck in my mind for some time now. When someone is nominated for promotion or demotion on the Requests for User Rights page, does the user who set it up has the right remove it at his/her will - even with comments implemented too?
Why I'm asking this is because one time there was a user who nominated himself for chat moderator back in 2012. Days later, the user removed the nomination - with the comments and all.
Months before, Ohmygod123 set up a demotion for MetalMickey272's chat moderator rights because of a joke between Metal and I went a little too far. Ohmygod123 soon realized that the joke Metal said didn't offend me, thus the nomination was removed. Minutes past and Supermorff re-added the demotion stating "you can't remove a demotion request that has been opened once other people have commented".
I've been confused ever since. And today I'm coming out with this because this is starting to bother me and it needs an answer - is the nominator allowed to remove his/her nomination regardless if there's already comments?
