Boss Krouch is a character that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. He is an anthropomorphic lizard and the mayor of Backwater City, a town in the Mobian Prairie, and also the area's largest supplier of Apterix meat to Metropolis City. He is the rival of another rancher, named Rooster. His son is Backwater's Deputy Sheriff.

History

Boss Krouch was once the only supplier of Apterix meat to the Metropolis Zone, until Rooster entered the same business. Threatened, Krouch hired a rabbit named Chito to kill Rooster,[1] using a special chemical compound that simulated the scent of an Apterix's most feared predator but a hundred times more potent, thus causing a deadly stampede to crush Rooster to death.[2] However, Rooster managed to survive the stampede. Chito managed to allay suspicion by accusing Knuckles the Echidna of the sabotage (he had also been caught in the stampede) and taking him back to Backwater City,[3] where the town Deputy, Krouch's son, agreed to lock Knuckles up until the Sheriff returned from out of town.

In order to prevent the Sheriff from uncovering Knuckles' innocence and exposing the plot, Krouch sent some of his men to lynch Knuckles at night, which his son permitted, but this was prevented by the timely return of the Sheriff,[1] who immediately fired Deputy Krouch as a disgrace. Meanwhile, Boss Krouch went to kill Rooster himself,[4] again using the Apterix predator compound. He was thwarted at the last minute by Knuckles and accidentally dropped the vial of chemical, causing a stampede in which Krouch himself was crushed to death.[2]

Personality

Krouch is a ruthless businessman, and is quite willing to kill anyone that interferes in his business.
