Butterdroid (テフテフ, Tefu-tefu in Japan) is a butterfly-type Badnik created by Doctor Robotnik. It appears at Mushroom Hill Zone in Sonic & Knuckles. Years later it reappears at Mushroom Hill Zone in Sonic Generations for the 3DS, where their behavior has not changed. These white metallic badniks have two big yellow wings and two big eyeballs.
Attack Pattern

Butterdroid Badniks slowly fly around the territory simply trying to fly into the player with no accuracy whatsoever. This makes them easy to defeat in most cases, but they usually appear near sticky vines that the player can get caught on, which makes them more of a threat. They will appear in groups of two or three. Butterdroids can easily defeat with Spin Jump.

- Butterdroid never appeared in a Sonic the Comic, but has been appeared on Sonic Holiday Special 1996 at pin-up along with EggRobo, Sonic and other Mushroom Hill Zone badniks.
