This is supposed to be impressive... The turrets on my battleship are one hundred times this size.

Dr. Eggman, Shadow the Hedgehog

The Cell Cannon[1] (セルキャノン[2] Seru Kyanon?), also known as the Black Arms Cannon, is a gimmick that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is one of Black Arms' armaments for destroying warships.

Description[]

E3 12

The Cell Cannon's shot, from Shadow the Hedgehog.

The Cell Cannon consists of two objects: the first is the cannon which is dark gray with some purple lines, and the second is the fundament which is connected to the Cannon. The latter is on the ground, and has a dark gray outfit with some purple shades and two transparent shields on both sides of the cannon.

Overview[]

In Shadow the Hedgehog, the Cell Cannon is used against the ships of the Eggman Fleet due to Dr. Eggman's attacks on the Sky Troops, but it can also used to destroy the Black Arms Gun ships. In gameplay, to enter the cannon, the player has to press Gamecube X Button/Circle/XboxB. They player can then use the control stick to aim the shots with the "X" mark on the screen (which indicates where the shots will land) and press SNNBGAMECUBEDISCO/Square/XboxX to fire. Press Gamecube X Button/Circle/XboxB again to leave the Cell Cannon. It has unlimited amount of ammo, so players do not need to worry about the ammo reserve.

The Cell Cannon is not indestructible, meaning that if one of the ships attack the Cell Cannon enough times, it will explodes and force Shadow to leave it. It also releases a Black Barrel, which can be used against enemies. However, its ammo reserve is low.

It is possible to counter-attack a closing-in Eggman Fleet gunship's projectiles with the Cell Cannon. However, the slow firing rate of this cannon makes aiming a necessary skill.
