The Chaos Emeralds are objects mentioned in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series published by IDW Publishing. They are seven gemstones from Sonic's world that hold incredible power.
Powers and traits
Possessing immense power, the Chaos Emeralds have the same properties as the Sol Emeralds, except that they are not "fiery".
Sonic and Dr. Eggman have had numerous past encounters that involved them battling for possession of the Chaos Emeralds.
Long after, Sonic once used the Chaos Emeralds as base examples for a comparison to the Sol Emeralds when he explained the latter to Tangle.
