The Chaos Emerald of Invincibility[1] is an object that appears in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog television series. It is one of the four magical Chaos Emeralds, which was sought by Dr. Ivo Robotnik during the Quest for the Chaos Emeralds saga.

Description[]

Appearance[]

Chaos emerald of invincibility

The Chaos Emerald of Invincibility.

The Chaos Emerald of Invincibility looks like a rugged green diamond with a flat top facet. It is also small enough to fit in the palm of Dr. Robotnik's hand.[1][2]

Powers and traits[]

The Chaos Emerald of Invincibility can make its wielder invincible by transforming them into a buff version of themselves, granting them both invulnerability and incredible strength. However, in order to activate the Emerald's power, the user must have attained the title of King of the Hound Table.[1]

Like the other three Chaos Emeralds, the Chaos Emerald of Invincibility holds an incredible amount of power. When combined with the other three Emeralds, the Chaos Emerald of Invincibility can provide the wielder with enough power to conquer the entire universe.[3] However, the effects will wear off if the user loses possession of the Chaos Emeralds.[2]

History[]

TV series[]

Season one[]

InvincibleRobotnik

Dr. Robotnik, after having become king and activating the powers of the Chaos Emerald of Invincibility.

In the medieval era, the Chaos Emerald of Invincibility was held by the magician Merlynx. However, the evil Dr. Ivo Robotnik and his minions would obtain the Emerald after threatening Merlynx to hand it over. However, Merlynx told them that, to activate the Emerald's power, Robotnik had to become the King of the Hound Table. As such, Robotnik tried to overthrow King Arfur, and eventually succeeded despite interference from Sonic the Hedgehog. With the powers of the Chaos Emerald of Invincibility now active, Robotnik used it to become invincible. Afterward, he challenged Sonic to a duel. However, Tails managed to steal the Chaos Emerald of Invincibility from Robotnik and strip him of his new powers. After Robotnik was defeated, Arfur retrieved the Chaos Emerald.[1]

After stealing the other three Chaos Emeralds, Dr. Robotnik returned to the medieval era again and made King Arfur give him the Chaos Emerald of Invincibility by threatening to end the life of his daughter, Princess Gwendolyn, if he did not hand the Emerald over.[2]

Uniting the four Chaos Emeralds in his own era, Robotnik transformed into the Supreme High Robotnik. However, he was defeated by Sonic and Tails when the two recruited several past versions of themselves from across time to help them take down Robotnik. Afterward, the Chaos Emerald of Invincibility, along with the other Chaos Emeralds, were returned to their rightful places in time.[2]

Trivia[]

  • Strangely, Tails was able to use the powers of the Chaos Emerald of Invincibility despite not being king of the Hound Table.

It resembes the Green Chaos Emerald from the games.[1]
