A Team Blast maneuver that destroys all enemies and freezes time temporality.
Chaos Inferno (カオスインフェルノ,Kaosuinferuno?) is the Team Blast used by Team Dark in Sonic Heroes. When performing this move, Shadow, Rouge and Omega team up to deliver a knockout technique that destroys all nearby enemies and temporarily freezes time.
When performing Chaos Inferno, Shadow grabs the green Chaos Emerald and invokes Chaos Control to freeze time while Rouge lifts Omega up into the air by his head. Omega then reconfigures his arms into laser cannons and fires a giant purple laser beams from each of them whilst rotating his torso counter-clockwise, thus blasting everything within range.
To perform Chaos Inferno in gameplay, the player must press White Button// when the Team Blast Gauge is full. When performing this technique, it destroys all normal enemies in the vicinity and as well inflicts a large amount of damage to bosses. Additionally, while the Team Blast Gauge is resetting from the usage of Chaos Inferno, time is completely stopped, meaning opponents, doors, switches and even the Total Time are frozen in place. Any damage that enemies sustain will take effect once time unfreezes. While this effect is useful for getting a good time in Stages and attacking enemies, it also means the environment in the Stages will not react to the player's actions before time unfreezes. However, the player can manually unfreeze time early by pressing White Button// again.
Whilst performing Chaos Inferno, Shadow uses the green Chaos Emerald regardless of whether the player has collected it in gameplay beforehand or not.
There is a glitch that allows Team Dark to spin on an invisible pole. The Team Blast charges up while Team Dark destroys enemies in the frozen level. Another glitch can be performed at Ocean Palace. Near the end of the level, where boulders are rolling towards the playable character, wait until there are three boulders. When the player gets near the Dash Panel (you don't have to be right next to it) use Chaos Inferno. If done correctly, the player will see a "zoomed out" version of the Chaos Inferno.
