Climbing is a move used by Knuckles the Echidna in Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric and is the game's counterpart to the Climb from the main game series. When using this move, Knuckles can climb and scale vertical walls.
When performing Climbing, Knuckles jumps onto a suitable walls and digs the spikes on his fists into them, thus making a stable bond with the surface. By then using the spikes on his fists to climb, Knuckles is able to move across and scale the walls.
In gameplay, the player can only perform Climbing on Climbable Walls. To use Climbing, the player simply has to jump onto the Climbable Walls and Knuckles will stick onto it. To move around on the walls, the player has to use the left control sticks. While using Climbing, Knuckles is still able to attack and destroy obstacles blocking the path.
