Cluckoid (ケッコー Kekko?) is a rooster-type Badnik created by Dr. Eggman. It makes its first appearance in Sonic & Knuckles. It resembles a real life weathercock, which stands in one spot. Cluckoid's model is white, which has a orange colored wattle and comb.

Sonic & Knuckles

In Sonic & Knuckles, Cluckoid badniks can be only found during the second act of Mushroom Hill Zone, where they are found standing in wind vanes, and when approached, they inhale deeply, then release a gust of wind, attempting to blow the player into obstacles. If they are not gusting the wind vanes, they can be defeated with Spin Jump into them.

Sonic Lost World

Cluckoid badniks make an appearance in Sonic Lost World, where they can be found at Frozen Factory Zone 2. During the game, it turns out that badniks, including Cluckoids, got hijacked by the Deadly Six. In the stage, when Sonic turns himself into a large rotating snowball, Clukoid badniks are seen set on the route or floating in the air with small red balloon below the white pole, where the badnik stands on. Clukoid badniks are trying to blow the player out the route, as the player can fall into the bottomless pit.[1]

  • "Kekko" is the Japanese onomatopoeia for a chicken's clucking.
  • Cluckoids apparently do not appear in Sonic Generations for 3DS, even though other badniks from Mushroom Hill Zone appear in the game. Even the autumn variation of the zone appears in Modern Sonic's version of the stage.
