Bessatsu CoroCoro Comic Special #47 from August 1992; the first issue to feature Sonic the Hedgehog.

Bessatsu CoroCoro Comic Special (別冊コロコロコミックSpecial Bessatsu Korokoro Komikku Special?), originally stylized as Bessatsu Korokoro Komikku Supesharu (別冊コロコロコミックスペシャル?), is a bimonthly Japanese manga anthology magazine published by Shogakukan. It is targeted at elementary school aged boys and is known for featuring manga based upon popular anime, video games and toys. It was launched in late 1984 as the successor to Bessatsu CoroCoro Comic (別冊コロコロコミック Bessatsu Korokoro Komikku?) and is a sister publication of Gekkan CoroCoro Comic (月刊コロコロコミック Gekkan Korokoro Komikku?). Issues are released around the 28th day of every even numbered month. The issue date is always ahead of the actual publication date (ex. the October 1992 issue was published 29 August 1992).

It has featured two different manga series based upon the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
