Countdown Numbers are objects that appear in the Wii U version of Sonic Lost World. They grant a 1-Up to the player if they are collected in the right order.

The Countdown Numbers resemble giant green floating numbers surrounded by a circle of smaller green dishes. They always appear in sets of five, each of them display a different number from 1 to 5.

The Countdown Number sets appear within a general area inside a Zones. In gameplay, the player can earn a 1-Up by collecting all five local Countdown Numbers in the descending order of their numbers (first collect the Countdown Number showing "5", then the one showing "4", then the one showing "3" and so forth). To collect a Countdown Number, Sonic simply has to walk into it. If the Countdown Numbers are not collected in the right order, the remaining Countdown Numbers that have yet to be collected will disappear, and will not reappear unless the player restarts the Zone. The Countdown Numbers are typically placed in areas with emphasis on running or Parkour.
