The Crescent Moon Strike is one of the Skills used by Sonic the Werehog in both the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version and Wii/PlayStation 2 version of Sonic Unleashed. When performing this move, Sonic bombards enemies with multiple punches while in the air.

Description[]

Xbox 360/PlayStation 3[]

In the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version of Sonic Unleashed, the Crescent Moon Strike is one of Sonic's Aerial Attack Skills. When performing this move, Sonic first performs the Flying Double-Punch. After that, Sonic launches an uppercut while doing a flip, before then performing a bombardment of rapid punches in mid-air. He then finishes off by putting his hands together in a collective fist behind his head before bringing it down on his opponent(s) with a body flip, as he stretches out his arms, bashing his opponent(s) into the ground.

The Crescent Moon Strike becomes available in the game when Sonic the Werehog's Combat parameter reaches level 22. To perform the Crescent Moon Strike in gameplay, the player must press XboxYXboxYXboxXXboxXXboxA/PSTriangleButtonPSTriangleButtonSquareSquareCross in quick succession while Sonic is send into mid-air by one of his other Skills, such as the Sho-Hog-Ken or Sho-Claw-Ken. In gameplay, the player can control which way Sonic is facing when performing this move. Additionally, the final part of the Shooting Star Combo will knock an airborne enemy into the ground, where the enemies nearby the landing point will be knocked back by a shock wave effect. This move is targeted for enemies that take multiple hits to defeat.

Wii/PlayStation 2[]

In the Wii/PlayStation 2 version of Sonic Unleashed, the Crescent Moon Strike is slightly different compared to its Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 counterpart. In this version, the Crescent Moon Strike is one of the moves Sonic can only perform while in Unleashed Mode. The performance of the move is the same it is in the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version of Sonic Unleashed.

To perform the Crescent Moon Strike in gameplay, the player first has to be in Unleashed Mode. On the Wii version, the player must then hit an opponent(s) at least four times and press WiiDSA to activate the Crescent Moon Strike. On the PlayStation 2 version, the player must then hit an opponent(s) at least four times and press PSTriangleButton to activate the Crescent Moon Strike. While using the Crescent Moon Strike, the player can control which direction Sonic is facing when using it.
