The Crimson Wisp is a creature that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a type of Wisp that grants the Crimson Eagle Color Power.

The Crimson Wisps are colored crimson with three wide spikes extending from the top of their heads, and have three orange eyes that form a triangular pattern on their face. They also have three thin tentacles stemming from the bottom of their heads.

Game appearances

Sonic Lost World

In gameplay on the Wii U version of Sonic Lost World, the Crimson Wisps appear as Item Box power-ups that enable the Crimson Eagle. The player encounters the Crimson Wisps in Desert Ruins, Silent Forest and Sky Road.

Team Sonic Racing

In Team Sonic Racing, the Crimson Wisps appear as Item Box power-ups. In gameplay, the Crimson Wisp power-ups allow the player to manifest a projectile identical to the Crimson Eagle. Once fired, this projectile will home in on the closest enemy racer in front of the user and incapacitates them.

Powers and abilities

The Crimson Wisps are able to levitate in midair at will, which serves as their main method of transportation.

The Crimson Wisps are able to generate and store their own unique variant of a powerful energy known as Hyper-go-on inside their own bodies, which is their life source. It is unclear to what extent they can use their own Hyper-go-on.

The Crismon Wisps are able to pass on a fraction of their Hyper-go by phasing into the recipient. When organic beings receive their Hyper-go-on, they can transform into the Crimson Eagle which enables them to fly.
