Crushers are objects that stomp to a wall, killing Sonic instantly, even if he is carrying Rings or a Shield, or even if he is Super Sonic.

Game AppearancesEdit

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (16-bit)Edit

They first appear in Metropolis Zone, where they move up and down at regular intervals.  Smaller ones also appear in Mystic Cave Zone.

Sonic CDEdit

They appeared in Metallic Madness, but were smaller than in Sonic 2, and they moved slowly.

Sonic Riders: Zero GravityEdit

One crusher appears in MeteoTech Premises. It doesn't hurt the player, but blocks the rider's path.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1Edit

They appear in Mad Gear Zone, where they act the same way they did in the Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

Adventures of Sonic the HedgehogEdit

One crusher appears in the episode "Lovesick Sonic", used as a backup trap for Sonic. When Sonic was knocked out by the electricity magnet, he dodged it, also saving Breezie. Scratch refers it as "The Smash Stepper".

TriviaEdit

Some games have the crusher, but the crusher only acts like a normal hazard, and only kills if one has no rings. However, it goes through invincibilty. Some people have complained when it actually made Super Sonic drop rings.
