Dark Arsenal is a racetrack that appears in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing that represents the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is one of three courses in the game that are based off Final Fortress of Sonic Heroes, and the second course in the Egg Cup.

Overview[]

Dark Arsenal is a long track that sports many opportunities either to fall behind or to make a comeback. From the start, the track heads down a small hill and then curves sharply to the right. Toward the left side of that bend, there is a break in the wall where a ramp is positioned. The player can use power sneakers to zip forward and fly from the ramp with a burst of speed that should carry the car across a wide gap and cut off a long turn that the other racers have to navigate conventionally.

Elsewhere in the track, there are many curves that the player can either drift along and boost along to gain ground on opponents, but much of the course is populated by Egg Pawns. Bumping into them will slow down the player, so drifting around them or boosting through them can help avoid this situation. The same holds true for the Egg Hammers that are conveyed across the track near its conclusion, where racers can bump one another into these obstacles.

The DS version remains largely unchanged, but does not have the ramps or the conveyor belts dragging along Egg Hammers as hazards.

Other game appearances[]

Team Sonic Racing[]

In Team Sonic Racing, Dark Arsenal returns as one of the tracks located in the Final Fortress, along with Turbine Loop and Thunder Deck. The track has not been changed much, except for some graphic modifications.

Trivia[]

  • This is the third longest course after Ocean Ruin and Monkey Target. However, since they both have big ramps, Dark Arsenal seems the longest.
