Plot[]

The Blue Typhoon detects two Metarex who just stole a Planet Egg on a jungle planet. Sonic destroys the biggest Metarex with the Sonic Power Cannon, but he is launched too hardly and he falls straight to the planet. He crashes right onto Doctor Eggman, who is already on the planet, and Sonic takes the green Chaos Emerald that the evil doctor has just discovered. Having landed on the planet, Tails and Knuckles get aboard the X-Tornado in order to find Sonic, leaving Amy behind.

Amy desperately wants to find Sonic by herself and she enters the jungle. She is accompanied by Cosmo, who wants to find the Planet Egg, and Cream and Cheese, who do not want to be left alone. Discovering he was left alone, Chris contacts Tails, but at the same moment, the X-Tornado spots a Chaos Emerald. Inside.

Inside the jungle, Amy, Cosmo, Cream, and Cheese struggle to find Sonic and the Planet Egg, but they are captured twice by the small Metarex who survived the previous fight, the Metarex Kingape. Cream was growling at him and knocks the Metarex Kingape out. However, they escape and are able to take possession of the Planet Egg. Sonic is still running in the jungle with the Chaos Emerald in his hand and he is found by Tails and Knuckles. Dr. Eggman arrives and he steals the emerald from Sonic. Sonic and Knuckles prepare to fight, but the girl group and the Metarex Kingape appear. Eggman captures everybody (even the Metarex Kingape). The Planet Egg begins reacting and huge vines end up wrapping everyone (including Eggman), keeping Sonic and his friends captured. Meanwhile at the Blue Typhoon, Chris is in the bridge when all of a sudden, he hears beeping and answers it. He hears Sonic and everyone else shouting and yelling for help, though Chris tells them to calm down and try to talk one at a time so he can hear. Eggman yells at Bocoe to prune the plants and he tells him they are growing too fast and the planet is out of control. Chris finally arrives, having respond to their distress call. With a little help from both Chris and a still captured Tails, Sonic is able to use the blue Chaos Emerald to spin free of the vines and use his Grind Shoes to ride down another giant vine, defeat Eggman, and retrieve the green Chaos Emerald. Finally, the Planet Egg gets back where it belongs, allowing the vines the loosen their grasp on the rest of Sonic's friends (freeing them from their captivity), and the Metarex Kingape is destroyed. Sonic and his friends later get back to the Blue Typhoon with two Chaos Emeralds in account now.

Eyecatch cards[]

Regional differences[]

  • The recap at the beginning of the episode was removed from the dub, so now the episode begins on the Blue Typhoon.
  • The Metarex Kingape originally spoke in a Joker-style voice and was prone to cackling crazily. The dub instead gives him a deep robotic voice and removed any instance of his cackling.
  • The flashback of Cosmo getting cornered by a Metarex Trooper has a vintage effect added in the dub. The sequence itself is also shortened by a few seconds.
  • During the part where Amy, Cream, and Cosmo are caged by the Metarex Kingape, a short scene of Amy telling him that Sonic won't be captured by him, following by him retorting that she doesn't sound convincing, was removed in the dub for unknown reasons.
  • A close-up of the Planet Egg shining was removed in the dub.
  • A small scene of Amy reassuring Cosmo that the planet will be safe because they've recovered its Egg was removed in the dub.
  • A very brief shot of Amy thanking Cream and Cheese for their help was removed in the dub.

Goofs[]

Desperately Seeking Sonic goof

Knuckles's glove error.

  • When Amy's dress starts to fall, it goes up before she touches it.
  • There are two scenes where Knuckles' gloves have fingers instead of mittens.
