The Disasterometer is an object that appears in the Sonic Boom television series. It is a device created by Miles "Tails" Prower which can detect and pinpoint disaster based on their sounds.

Description

Appearance

The Disasterometer's screen.

Apparently based on the Reverse Polarizer's design, the Disasterometer is a yellow and grey hand-held device with a small screen and a grip on the bottom. It has a parabola on top, a turning knob on the left side, two pins on the right side, and a paper roll on the back.

Features and abilities

The Disasterometer is capable of detecting, storing and playing the sound signatures of typhoons, earthquakes and other disasters or sounds equivalent to them, like Sticks' horrible singing voice, over a wide range. Basically, it works as an early warning signal of disasters. When discovering a sound source, it can triangulate its location and print out a topographical representation.[1]

The Disasterometer's detecting Sticks' singing.

When Sticks was kidnapped by Rocky, the Disasterometer picked up on Sticks' horrible singing voice when Rocky forced her to sing, enabling Team Sonic to find and rescue Sticks. Then, when they relocated Rocky to Dr. Eggman's Lair, Tails had the Disasterometer play Sticks' singing in an endless loop which made Rocky doze off into slumber once more.[1]
