Five years. It has been five long years since my crack-shell cousin, Robotnik, banished me here, to the Warp of Confusion! But I shall have my revenge!

— Dr. Warpnik, "Trail of the Missing Tails"

Doctor Warpnik is a character that appears in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog television series. He is an inventor and the cousin of the infamous Dr. Ivo Robotnik, who banished him to the Warp of Confusion for his exceedingly loony behavior.

Appearance[]

Dr. Warpnik is a human about as tall as his cousin Robotnik. He has pink skin, broad shoulders, black eyes, a round red nose, an overbite. He is also bald and has a patch of yellow hair floating above his head which changes shape according to Warpnik's mood, for example by forming an exclamation point or spinning in a circle. For attire, he wears a pair of glasses with black frames, a white and buttoned-up lab coat, light green rubber gloves, and dark red one-piece pants/shoes.

Trail of the Missing Tails 174

Dr. Warpnik about to be banished to the Warp of Confusion by Dr. Robotnik.

Five years ago, Dr. Warpnik was banished to the Warp of Confusion by his cousin Dr. Ivo Robotnik due to his loony behavior and his unbridled love of fish. Furious over this act, Warpnik vowed revenge and would spent the next five years in the Warp of Confusion planning his revenge.[1]

Season one[]

Warpnik and Robotnik fighting each other.

In the present day, Warpnik would observe Mobius through a special telescope. Noticing that Dr. Robotnik would follow his arch enemy, Sonic, everywhere, Warpnik planned to lure Robotnik into the Warp of Confusion. As such, Warpnik lured Tails to him and tied him up. When Sonic later came to the Warp of Confusion to find Tails, Warpnik greeted him and told Sonic his story. However, he refused to let Sonic go, and so made Sonic his prisoner. When Robotnik himself then appeared with his Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad, Warpnik immediately launched his attack by hitting Robotnik with a fish. After a while, however, Robotnik responded with a snap using a larger fish. During their fight however, Sonic and Tails began attempting to escape. In response, Warpnik rode one of his larger fish up to his machine. After prepping his weapon, he started firing it, its shots transforming the objects in the Warp of Confusion into monsters that began to chase Sonic and Tails. Robotnik interrupted him, however, and the two struggled over who got to control the weapon. In the end, however, they ended up damaging the weapon. When Warpnik and Robotnik then began fighting each other with fish again however, Scratch, Grounder and Coconuts, who had been turned into giant monsters by Warpnik's machine, tried to crush Robotnik. However, the robots accidently destroyed Warpnik's weapon, thereby triggering a chain reaction that made the Warp of Confusion go supernova. Warpnik and his cousin tried to extinguish enusing fire with fish, but then they noticed Sonic approaching with a Triple Spin. Sonic proceeded to bowl through Robotnik, Warpnik and the remains of Warpnik's machine, before escaping the Warp of Confusion with Tails through the Dimensional Tunnel, which subsequently exploded. Now trapped with each other in the Warp of Confusion for the time being, Warpnik and Robotnik continued to fight each other with fish while Scratch, Grounder, and Coconuts watched.[1]

Personality[]

Warpnik

Warpnik laughing hysterically.

Known for his extremely loony behavior, Warpnik is an absolute maniac; he is downright crazy, eccentric, and insane. Often capable of doing erratic things such as stuffing fish into his ears and having odd twitches. He constantly laughs hysterically, shouts his words a lot, and has extreme mood swings. He is also very affectionate about fish, despite using them as his go-to methods of combat, where he was seen passionately kissing them and giving them nicknames.[1]

Behind his insanity and acts of foolishness, Warpnik is a brilliant intelligent and cunning manipulator, luring both Sonic and Robotnik to him without either of them knowing before it was too late. He is also shown to be vengeful as he vowed revenge for being banished for five years.[1]

Powers and abilities[]

Despite his extreme levels of unadulterated weirdness, Warpnik possesses a high intellect. He is capable of inventing advanced machines like Dr. Robotnik, but his inventions are more bizarre and strange. His most prominent creation thus far is a series of cannons which fire cannonballs that can transform robots and inanimate objects into giant monsters. Warpnik also created a telescope-like device which allows him to view Mobius while trapped in the Warp of Confusion. Warpnik also has devious manipulation skills, capable of concocting a plan that successfully lured Sonic and Robotnik into entering the Warp of Confusion, especially when he somehow captured Tails when Sonic was looking for him.[1]

  • His expressive hair (which could possibly be a wig) that floats above his head, frequently shifts into shapes to emphasize his moods or thoughts.
