During Gamma's version of the Action Stage in particular, there are many Tails and Knuckles-like dolls, while one single Sonic doll can be found, hanging on the shooting range at the end of the stage. Destroying Tails and Knuckles dolls will give the player extra points for the timer. Gamma completes the Action Stage by shooting at Sonic doll three times. In Sonic's version of Final Egg on the other side, dolls appear near the end of the stage. The player can destroy dolls with a Spin Attack-related move.

In the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by IDW Publishing, Sonic and Tails eventually found some Dolls in an abandoned Eggman base near Windmill Village during their search for the base's computer terminal. When they found it, Sonic noted that the surrounding Dolls were creepy while Tails went to work on the computer terminal.[3] While waiting for Tails to finish, Sonic tried playing around with a Knuckles Doll, but to no avail.[4]
