Dreamcast Collection is s a video game compilation of seven (originally four) of the best-selling Sega titles originally released for the Dreamcast. It was developed and published by Sega for the Xbox 360 and Microsoft PC in 2011. It was later re-released on Steam, where it would be updated with additional games.

Gameplay[]

Dreamcast Collection is a combination of four original Sega-hit titles released for the Dreamcast. In this collection however, the original versions have been remastered and feature HD graphics and up-to-date console/PC features. Achievements for the individual games and online leaderboards are available on the Xbox 360 and Steam releases for each game as well.

Should the Xbox 360 disc for the game be inserted into an Xbox One, the game will download all the games, with the exception of Space Channel 5: Part 2 and boots up Crazy Taxi by default. It also bypasses the title screen for the game. To play the games it does download, however, the disc must remain inserted into its console.

Development[]

Despite being released as a compilation, the games in Dreamcast Collection would also be available for purchase separately on the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network at the time of its release.[4] A retail release was originally listed for release on the PlayStation 3, but it was put on hold.[5]

Dreamcast Collection was later reissued on 22 July 2016 for Steam, adding two games (NiGHTS into Dreams and Jet Set Radio), which had been remastered just like the original four games, and are a part of the Sega Heritage Collection.[6] It was later updated once again on 7 April 2020 to include Sonic Adventure 2 (2012), which completes the collection.[7] The games can be purchased either collectively or individually on Steam.

And so do you."[8][10] Eurogamer gave the game a positive review, scoring it a three out of five stars.[9]
