Template:Item The Drum Can,[1] also known as the metal barrel,[2] is a gimmick that appears in Sonic Adventure and its remake Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut. It is a variant of the usual barrel which can be used by Amy Rose to hide from enemies.

Description

The Drum Can resembles a real-life grey metal oil barrel with a dark blue front surface.

Overview

The Drum Can appears in some of Amy Rose's Action Stages. They can be used by Amy to hide from enemies. When using it, Amy lifts up the barrel and goes inside it. While it is useful for hiding from regular Badniks, it rarely fools ZERO, who pursues Amy throughout her Action Stages, and it always generates damaging shockwaves across the ground to coax Amy out of the Drum Can. As such, it is advised to stay out from under the Drum Can unless it is used as a step in Final Egg.[2]

In gameplay, the player can enter the Drum Can by pressing SNNBGAMECUBEDISCO. While hiding under it, Amy can move around, though jumping will make Amy pop out of the Drum Can.

Trivia

  • The reason that ZERO knows when Amy is hiding inside a Drum Can may be because of Amy's habit of shaking the barrel continuously.
