— Dynamight, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine(16-bit)

Dynamight is a character that appears in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog television series. He is a bounty hunter Badnik created by Dr. Ivo Robotnik.

Appearance[]

Dynamight sprite

Dynamight is a robot that resembles a combination of a stick of dynamite, a detonation plunger, and a bicycle pump. He has black eyes and a wide smile, and has what appears to be a gray beam resembling a detonator on the top of his head. He also has a bar on the bottom of his body for feet.

In Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, Dynamight's appearance is almost the same as the one he has in the television series, except that he is much wider.

History[]

TV series[]

Past[]

SSSSSS Franly Dynamight and Skweel

Dynamight and his cohorts being led to their demise, from "Super Special Sonic Search & Smash Squad".

In the recent past, Dr. Robotnik gathered many of his old bounty hunter Badniks, including Dynamight. The doctor told them that he wanted them to catch Sonic, and if they did, he would give them one billion Mobiums. Immediately afterward, all the Badniks headed out in an attempt to catch the hedgehog when he revealed himself. Along the way, Dragon Breath told them to split into different groups to catch Sonic. Dynamight went with Frankly and Skweel. There, Sonic (disguised as a ringmaster) got Dynamight and his cohorts to enter a circus tent that concealed a cliff, leaving Dynamight to walk off the cliff and plummet into the ground below.[1]

Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine[]

In the 16-bit version and 8-bit version of Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, Dr. Robotnik assembled many of his old bounty hunter Badniks, including Dynamight, and told them to kidnap the Beans that inhabited Beanville so he could turn them into robot slaves using his Mean Bean-Steaming Machine. Later, Dynamight was the seventh Badnik the player battled and defeated.

Personality[]

Dynamight is an unintelligent robot, who can easily be tricked and defeated by his enemies. He is almost always smiling, and will rotate the detonator on his head if he thinks that he is winning. However, when he is defeated, he will prepare to blow himself up.

In contrast to his stupid nature, Dynamight is a very violent robot, who carries out his leader's orders without question. As a bounty hunter, he also loves money, and will do whatever he can in order to earn tons of Mobiums.[1]

Battle[]

Dynamight is the seventh boss in the 16-bit version and 8-bit version of Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine.

Boss guide[]

Like with the other bosses, the battle against Dynamight takes place in two "dungeons" on each side, the left one being from the player and the right one from Dynamight.[2] To defeat Dynamight, the player has to fill his dungeon to the point where he is unable to drop any more beans. This can be done by dropping Refugee Beans into his dungeon, though Dynamight himself can fill his own dungeon by accident.

During the battle, Dynamight aims for creating large combos that if not prevented with Refugee Beans, will easily defeat the player. However, Dynamight often overelaborates his combos, so he takes a while before he pulls one off. As a result, small combos will often dispatch Dynamight, as he will attempt to create a new combo set above where the Refugee Beans are instead of removing them.

The player loses when their dungeon is full of beans. After that, they are sent to a Continue screen and given the option to play again. If they win, however, the game will lead to the next boss, Grounder.

Trivia[]

  • When Dynamight is defeated, he explodes into shards, but apparently reforms when the frame changes to the next foe.
  • In this battle, Dynamight has the same AI as Zombie from Puyo Puyo, the game on which Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine is based.
