E-21 Ballios' eyecatch card profile.

E-21 Ballios is a character that appears in the anime series Sonic X. It is an E-Series robot created by Dr. Eggman. It only appeared in the episode, "Unfair Ball".

Ballios has a black metallic body reading the words "Eggs" on its chest and its shoulders bulge out resembling an American football player. It stands on its black feet with silver and purple-colored legs with yellow spots. It wears a black helmet with a yellow "E" on its silver and purple colored head. According to its eyecatch card profile, Ballios is 1.20 meters tall and weighs 120 kg.

Dr. Eggman challenged Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends to a game of baseball in which the winner got a Chaos Emerald. The doctor's team composed of several Ballios robots to take on Sonic and his friends. At first, the Ballios robots' team easily took the lead due to their abilities but the heroes had some tactics that helped them to catch up. Eventually, Eggman activated one of the Ballios' abilities to detach its head and attach it onto Sonic's head, in hopes of killing the hedgehog with its self-destruction but Knuckles the Echidna destroyed the robot head before it could explode. They were beaten and some were destroyed, the rest managed to escape in a helmet-shaped ship from where they were deployed.[1]

Powers and abilities

Being built for the purposes of playing baseball, Ballios is built as an athletic robot. It is able to extend its arms and legs across long distances and possess a significant deal of super strength; it can throw accurate pitches moving at high-speeds, bat away pitches across far distances or even throw another Ballios up into the air. Ballios also has the ability to detach their heads and attach themselves onto an enemy's head and then blows up.[1]

Ballios robots appear to be fragile; as seen with Amy throwing and batting pitches, they break fairly easily.[1]
