This article is about the robot. You may be looking for the status effect, Lucky (status effect), in Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood.

E-77 Lucky (E-77(ラッキー) Ī Nana-Ju Nana (Rakkī)?) is a character that appears in the anime series Sonic X. He is a E-Series robot created by Dr. Eggman to find the seventh Chaos Emerald.

Appearance[]

Designed to be the ultimate lucky charm, Lucky's body is a large gold bell with two visible purple eyes and the number "7" painted on in red and he is covered in good luck charms, including four-leafed clovers and rabbits' feet.

History[]

Anime[]

Chaos Emerald Saga[]

With only one Chaos Emerald still missing, Dr. Eggman created and deployed E-77 Lucky to find the seventh Chaos Emerald before Sonic and his friends, believing that the robot's penchant for luck would lead it right to the Emerald. With luck on the small robot's side, he ventured out into the world through Forest Hill and quickly toppled over and was seemingly stranded without help, only for Knuckles to arrive and aid him. Lucky then followed Knuckles all the way to the Thorndyke Mansion as the echidna gave a message to Chris to pass to Sonic: Reconcile with Dr. Eggman so they could use the seven Chaos Emerald to return home. Knuckles, Chris and Lucky then all made their way to Station Square Central Station to return to Forest Hill and speak with Dr. Eggman, only for Lucky to miss the train and be left behind, falling over again just trying to climb the train station stairs. All alone, Lucky was left sitting on a dumpster in the middle of the night before falling into the garbage after being scared by a cat. A garbage truck arrived soon after and hauled Lucky away with the trash to the South West Dump. Amongst all the litter however, Lucky stumbled and found the last Chaos Emerald hidden inside a metal box. Whilst Dr. Eggman manipulated Knuckles and Chris into giving him the other five Chaos Emeralds, Lucky reported his findings to Dr. Eggman via telephone and was scheduled to be picked up by the Egg Fort II.[2]

Sonic eventually arrived just in time to interrupt the hand-off and sent Lucky flying back on to a mattress. Sonic approached Lucky and the robot was just about to hand the gem to Sonic without a fight, when GUN's new Beetle units showed up to attack the Egg Fort II with Chris still inside. Dr. Eggman fired an all out assault below, depending on Lucky's good fortune to help him survive the barrage of ordinance and energy attacks the Egg Fort II deployed. Lucky survived against all odds, flying off into the distance from the resulting explosions and Dr. Eggman chased after the little robot whilst Sonic and the Beetles tailed the Egg Fort II. Using the Beetles as stepping stones, Sonic circumvented the Egg Fort II and caught Lucky in the sky, kindly asking to have the Chaos Emerald and Lucky, who had grown fond of Sonic, used his wings to save them both from the watery depths of the sea below them and handed the seventh Chaos Emerald over to him.[3]

Emerl Saga[]

Lucky later showed up at the Chaos Emerald Martial Arts Mash-Up, where he won a few rounds by default (due to his opponents never showing up or were forced to leave before fighting began). However, he finally lost against Emerl in the first semi-final match when he used up his energy supply taunting Emerl during their fight (as Emerl probably copied Lucky's luck).

Personality[]

Unlike the other Eggman's robots, Lucky is inoffensive and is not hostile to Sonic and his friends, even showing affection to Sonic when he saved Lucky's life. His topheavy physique makes him extremely clumsy, although his luck powers manage to assist him regardless.

Powers and abilities[]

Per his design, Lucky is capable of altering probability to give himself extremely good luck. He found a Chaos Emerald without trying and has survived situations that destroyed other robots through sheer luck. He is also capable of flight using his wings.

In the Chaos Emerald Martial Arts Mash-Up: Lucky won several matches through luck alone, with most of his opponents disqualified or unable to fight before their matches begin. The only exception was Emerl.

Trivia[]

  • Lucky's only form of communication is through beeping.
