Shade and Knuckles team up to deliver a powerful attack that ignores armor and may also leave the enemy distracted.

— Description, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood[1]

Echidna Rush (エキドゥナラッシュ Ekido~unarasshu?) is a POW move used by Shade the Echidna, with the aid of Knuckles the Echidna, in Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. When performing this move, Shade throws a grenade at her target and then follows up with her and Knuckles attacking the foe. This attack pierces armor and may leave the target distracted.

Description[]

When performing Echidna Rush, Shade and Knuckles move up in front of their opponent. Shade then throws a grenade at the opponent that explodes upon contact, before engaging the leech blade on her left wrist, creating a purple energy blade. Shade and Knuckles then charge into the opponent and attack it at the same time, with Knuckles throwing a powerful uppercut and Shade performing a upwards slash with her leech blade, before both of them retreat.

In gameplay, Echidna Rush deals attack damage to a single target with three strikes. When it deals damage, Echidna Rush pierces armor and has a chance of inflicting distracted on the target. The higher the level of Echidna Rush is, the more attack damage it will deal and the greater effect will the distracted status effect have on the opponents it inflicts.

Real-Time Interaction[]

When performing Echidna Rush in gameplay, the player has to complete a series of real-time events by performing certain actions on the Touch Screen, in order to execute Echidna Rush optimally. For these actions, the player has to touch the inside of five circles in succession when the outer circles overlap the inner circles. Missing or not touching these circles correctly will either result in Shade and/or Knuckles missing a strike or the damage from the attack being reduced.
