The Edge Attack[1] is a move used by Shadow the Hedgehog in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). When performing this technique, Shadow attacks a target with a sideways kick.

When using the Edge Attack, Shadow gets down while running forward and sweeps his both legs in about an 180 degree angle into his target, dealing damage, while turning off his Air Shoes.

In gameplay, the Edge Attack is primarily used to destroy weak obstacles and enemies. Unlike most other moves which slows the player when using them while running, the Edge Attack preserves their momentum, although it only deals one hit worth of damage and has limited range. Regardless, it is still recommended for keeping the momentum when weak obstacles or foes bar Shadow's path, like when fighting Silver, and to sneak through enemies' attacks. In addition, the Chaos Boost will amplify its power to a certain degree.

To use the Edge Attack in gameplay, the player has to press XboxX/PSSquareButton while running.
