Eelton John fighting Sonic the Hedgehog from Sonic the Comic #126. Art by Mick McMahon.

Eelton John is a character that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. He is an electric eel who lives in the underwater Zone of Trituna. He can fire bolts of electricity from his mouth.

Eelton John was one of a number of Trituna warriors that were sent up to the surface (specifically the Beanson Coast Zone) by Sharka Khan. He gained the ability to breathe on dry land from a serum developed by Doctor Robotnik and given to Sharka Khan by Agent X. John was the first member of the group to battle Sonic the Hedgehog, but Sonic dodged his electric bolt, grabbed him by the tail, and slammed him into a boulder, ending the fight.[1]

Once Sonic had defeated the other members of Eelton John's team, the marine creatures discovered that Robotnik's serum was starting to wear off and they returned to the sea. Sonic followed them in a special diving suit designed by Tekno the Canary. Eelton John and the other fighters tried to fight Sonic again, but were quickly defeated. (Eelton John regretting having his lunch so soon before fighting the hero.) Eelton John was one of the Tritunas to discover Sharka Khan's treachery and vowed to rule the Zone alongside his friends.[2]
