The Egg Flapper[1] is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a Badnik model created by Dr. Eggman and an aerial variant of the Egg Pawn.[1]
History
The Egg Flappers were created during Sonic the Hedgehog's year-long absence by Dr. Eggman as a replacement for the decommissioned SWATbots,[1] filling out tasks like patrols and scouting.
When Shadow the Hedgehog departed from the Eggman Empire, a pair of Egg Flappers were sent after him, only to be destroyed by Sonic and Tails upon getting close to Freedom HQ.[2] While guarding New Megaopolis, the Egg Flappers caught Espio the Chameleon when he uncovered Dr. Eggman plans to destroy Knothole. After a lengthy chase, they corned the chameleon.[3] However, when Eggman's plans were ruined, the doctor had an Egg Flapper carry him away from his defeat at New Mobotropolis.[4]
When the fourth Enerjak managed to escape his custom Egg Grape Chamber, the Egg Flappers and the Badnik Horde tried to vanquish him. However, every single one of them were wiped out by the demigod.[5][1]
Powers and abilities
Being aerial Egg Pawns, the Egg Flappers are capable of flight. In addition, they often featured electrically charged attacks and mounted laser rifles.[2][3]
